I’m just back from a quick trip to Denmark and Germany sharing songs with friends at some great venues and playing a live radio show. We started out playing at “Piet im Fishmarket” in Flensburg, Germany. A wonderful new restaurant and venue right on the harbor in Flensburg. Flensburg is a historic seaport, known for importing rum!
Our next stop was at Brillenlaboratorium Jens Drews. https://www.brillenlaboratorium.de
My friend Jens has a wonderful high end European fashion eye ware shop located on the Grossestrasse (main pedestrian shopping street in Flensburg) and is a big supporter of the local arts scene. The afternoon was sunny and warm (a rarity for Spring, in the North Country) so we set up right in front of his shop and share songs and good cheer!
One afternoon, we all piled into the car with instruments and drove to Langstedt, Germany for a live on-air interview with Andre Vogt of Foerde-radio. We had an absolute blast! Andre played a track off of my latest EP, “What You Know” and then I performed, “Long Road to Nashville” (co-written w Amanda Williams & Taylor Lewis) in the studio.
Next stop was at “Heimarhafen In Der Seewarte”. A lovely historic venue with truly wonderful hosts, and a super fun room to play. https://heimathafen-seewarte.de
The next day was a road trip to Norderstedt, Germany to sit in with “Rahel n Beck” https://www.facebook.com/rahelnbeck and share some songs at MusicStar Norderstedt.
I was in Heaven! This venue has hosted many “Greats” over the years, and I’ve heard it said that it is arguably one of the finest venues in Europe to hear live music. The sound, stage lighting, and A/V recording capabilities were just amazing! A truly professional and very welcoming venue.
Then I took a train to Copenhagen, Denmark for a few days of exploring the city and seeking out potential venues for future gigs. I overlapped with the “Songwriters Playground” open-mic night at Blagards Apoteka https://www.facebook.com/kroteket which is always a fun night of original music.
That's the latest round up from song writer sessions across the pond.
