FORMER MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER RELEASES ALBUM OF FOLK AMERICANA SONGS WITH A MESSAGE

GAINESVILLE, FL - SEPTEMBER 8, 2022 Folk music has a long history of championing political and social causes. The most recent example is an EP release by former medical social worker Pete Garfinkel called What You Know that shines a light on the human condition in a time of isolation.

Written remotely with Nashville songwriter and publisher Amanda Colleen Williams (I Can Be Me With You Garth Brooks), the songs took shape during the pandemic and provided a creative outlet for expression.

“I wanted to bring to light the issues families struggle with behind closed doors,” said Garfinkel.

“Pete has a unique perspective from his experiences in home health care and hospice, working with individuals and families in their own homes,” adds Williams. “We are excited to get these songs out into the world for people to hear, enjoy and share them.”

The 6-song album is available on all digital retailers including Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify and Tidal on October 14, 2022, and can be pre-saved and sampled now on Pete’s official website homepage: https://www.songsofsubstance.com

See Pete performing at the upcoming regional Folk Alliance festivals, and pop up shows around the U.S. this fall and winter. Updated show calendar and contact information on the website.
